Everest Base Camp Trek
Follow the legendary trail to the foot of Mount Everest
Everest Base Camp Trek overview
Stand where legends are made. The Everest Base Camp Trek is the most iconic Himalayan journey on earth — a 14-day expedition through the heart of the Khumbu Valley that takes you from the buzzing streets of Kathmandu to the foot of the world's highest mountain at 5,364 metres. Every step of the trail tells a story of human endurance, natural wonder, and Sherpa resilience. The route winds through Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, passing traditional Sherpa villages of Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Dingboche. You'll walk beneath the shadows of Lhotse, Nuptse, and the impossibly perfect pyramid of Ama Dablam — peaks that have inspired climbers and dreamers for generations. Ancient monasteries perched on ridgelines, fluttering prayer flags, and the scent of juniper incense mark every high pass. Reaching Base Camp is a deeply personal milestone. Standing on the Khumbu Glacier, surrounded by the roar of icefall and a ring of 8,000 m giants, is an experience that stays with you for life. For those who want to push higher, the sunrise hike to Kala Patthar (5,545 m) rewards with the most celebrated panoramic view in all of trekking — Everest's summit glowing gold at dawn. This trek demands a good level of fitness and a willingness to embrace altitude, cold nights, and the simple warmth of teahouse hospitality. Best undertaken in spring (March–May) or autumn (September–November), the EBC trail is challenging but well-supported — making it achievable for any determined trekker with proper preparation.
